EVENT PLANNING
As the New Member Coordinator for my sorority Pi Beta Phi, I realized I have a passion for leadership and want to apply this to a creative, client-facing environment. It was important to have a clear consistent message and team player attitude while leading a large group of 112 women through their eight-week program. I had a team of assistants and communicating with them on a daily basis was crucial to ensure everyone understood the upcoming events. I planned Bid Day for over 400 members and established relationships with t-shirt, backpack, and food vendors. Throughout this experience, I learned how important it is to pay attention to details and stay organized when there are several moving parts.
After one month into the New Member curriculum program, Big + Little Sister night takes place. I paired each new member with three Sophomore members prior to this event to help them integrate into our sisterhood and adjust to their new college life. For this event, I created a scavenger-hunt around the house until they finally unwrapped their big sister on Pi Beta Phi't front lawn. I worked with my team of assistants to ensure everyone was paired with a big sister and the event ran smoothly.
